Around 50 people met in downtown Santiago to demonstrate and deliver a letter to the Chilean government regarding the decision of the D&S company (a large supermarket chain) to fire 6,000. While the action was the first taken by this group, the supermarket clerks have scheduled a strike for tomorrow. The labor laws in Chile favor Precarity, so although D&S’s actions are unjust they are legal and approved by the state.
Quand le mot solidarité remplacera précarité, j’arrêterai. (When the word solidarity replaces precarity, I’ll stop.), from the Anti-CPE riseup graffitis in France.
