To people from the chilean government and international community,

We declare:

1. (KIÑE) Today, Friday November 13rd, we gathered to show our rage and pain when we remember 1 more year of the coward and brutal assasination of our WEICHAFE ALEX LEMUN SAAVEDRA, mapuche kid of 17 years old, who died because of Antonio Treur, active police officer and loyal servant to the wished of land owners. In memory of our all waichafes that have been murdered in the past and today.

2. (EPU) We reject the actions of the chilean state, their moves to kill us and their tries to break us as a Mapuche Nation, using strategies like justice setups, anti-mapuche laws (Antiterrorista law), raids, psychological fear and violence against our children in our communities, their mega projects and organizations with the intention to split us (CONADI) and others, the militar state of OUR LAND that carries the consecuense only the blood of Mapuche people. That makes the chilean state and it’s president MURDERES AND ACCOMPLICES of all this facts.

3. (KVLA) We make the call to every Peñi, Lamgen to rise up as a mapuche country, the return of all our land right now, our right to self determination, freedom to all our weichafes (warriors) kidnapped in different prisons of the chilean state. To keep walking with out authorities: lonkos, ñelpin, machis, werken, etc. who are the only ones that we listen and respect.

4. (MELI) Last thing, we are mapuche, we are people from the land and no bad government!!

Neither they repressive and genocide politics can change our beautiful blood our mapuche name.

The lands will stay our, and we to them. And nobody in the whole world can put that in doubt even for a minute. We will defend it, because it’s our mother, and we will defend it in any way at any cost.

THAT WE, THE MAPUCHE NATION, WILL NEVER STOP OF BEEN AWAKE, WE WILL NEVER BE EXTERMINATED AND THAT THEIR MOUTHS WILL NEVER SAY “THE MAPUCHE NATION IS DEAD”.

Protest meeting was held last Friday, october twenty third down town Santiago, to denounce the repression held against the Mapuche communities in the south of the country.

During the last months of this year the official violence has been very hard towards the Mapuche communities who are asking for their ancestral land in the south of the country, specially between Temuco and Temucuicui.

The increasing repression with a person killed by the police untilnow, has not finished yet. To all this we have to add new and violence breaking into communities to recover land (in the hands of forestall enterprises and landowners) the arrest of different Mapuche leaders who are trialed under the antiterrorist law which was created during the military dictatorship which many internationals human rights are against.

Against all this, many Mapuche organizations and friends protested down town Santiago for this strong repression. The traffic was stopped for some hours and riots with special police force ware held leaving teen persons arrested, two of them social communicators of a radio who were taken while working beside their equipment was broken.

While the murder of a mapuce activist in the IX región was a strong rumour in the air (confirmed by some media, but not by the government) different people who support the mapuche struggle hold a pacific meeting to protest against the police violence in the chilean south against our native people. The following statement was distributed in the place.

Statement to the Police Violence in Temucuicui

1. We condemn the pression made by the concertacionist government, alied with the right wing and the land owners. It’s unacceptable the irracionality that the police and their special forces group act against our brothers, shooting children, chokin them with their gases, hiting Mapuche authorities and arresting Mapuche leaders. The last raid from the last Friday on Oct. 16 is a reflection of the brutality used by the government to answer the demands from the Mapuche Nation.

2. We condemn the arbitrary arrest of our brothers from the Autonomous Community of Temucuicui, trying to vinculate without proof to the fires on trucks and the assault on tolls, in a set up of the racist chilean justice.

3. We denounce the hostil actitude from the Interior Ministery, made public by Patricio Rosende, who said that the State can call the antiterrorist law as a pression method to stop the mapuche movement. The use of this law created by Pinochet, infringes all rights of the accused people, it violates the due process and it multiplies the punishment by 3, even is there are not proofs.

4. The political responsability of the horrible abuses that we’ve seen is straight from the Concertación Government and the Right Wing, because they hold the politics of constant militarization of Mapuche territory. They are who turned the communities and cities of the south in a real État de siège, where Michelle Bachelet and her agents, the intelectual authors of these aberrants acts that affects not only children, but also the youth and indefense old people. They are the minds behind the criminalization of our demands.

5. We nade a call of atention to the international bodies who have the mission to protect the fundamental rights of the people, ie UNICEF in the case of children, to take part of our denounces of the serious abuses against our Mapuche children. They have enough antedecents to make an efective denounce. The Mapuche organizations reached them several times. They silence is making them accomplices of the racism of the Chilen State.

6. We reaffirm that the Mapuche Nation have the right for struggle to recover and reconstruct the historical territory, taken by the State and the rich people from this country. The represive actions of the Concertación and the Right Wing obbeys to the rejection of our political and territorial rights, to the rejection for autonomy and selfdetermination.

This Monday, the 12th they are fulfilled 517 years from the arrival of the Spanish people to what today is known as America. In Santiago different natives organizations, in his majority Mapuche people, they marched for the Alameda, not to celebrate this date, but to remember the start-up of the Hispanic invasion and the beginning of a process of usurpation of their lands and of running over against their people.

First were the Spanish people whom with a sword and a cross in each hand tried to impose the dominion to the Mapuche people,, already they had achieved to subjugate the Incas and to exterminate almost all the Diaguitas. But the Mapuche people resisted the invasion, losing in territories and lifes.
Then would came the conformation of the Chilean State, who took charge decimating again the Mapuche people, isolating them in small redoubts in the south of the new country called Chile. Almost they are fulfilled 200 years from the independence of Chile from the Spanish Crown and the Mapuche people continue in the shadow fighting for their self-determination and for their lands, yesterday usurped by the Spanish people, today in hands of economic conglomerates and owners of the large estate.
It is for this that the motto of the march convoked today was “bicentenary of oppression”. Under this motto over 7 thousand people close to the Mapuche Nation and other natives’ peoples marched for the streets of Santiago, demanding self-determination and the return of the lands usurped.

The manifestation ended in the Huelen Hill, where from a stage they carry out a political cultural act

This Thursday October 8th carry out a political meeting to the outskirts of the UMCE, ex pedagogic, in solidarity with the Mapuche cause and in repudiation to the repression that the Chilean State practices against this people.

A few days to fulfil  a new year from the arrival of Columbus to America, that for the west is supposed to be his discovery, a group of young people took the traffic to the outskirts of the UMCE to say that there is nothing to celebrate and a lot of what regret, from the arrival of the Spanish people to these homelands, in those which lived different ethnic groups and peoples, many of those which have been totally eradicated or assimilated  to the different states that were growing out through the years of conquest.

With canvases and placards they stopped the traffic for some minutes, until the bursting of the special forces of Chilean police, whom obliged to the demonstrators to fall back to the inside of the university campus, while from outside the Chilean police shot large quantity of tear gas, prompted to the bodies of the peoples that they found inside.

Passing a half and hour the calm turned to the sector, without registering persons under arrest nor wounded

This text was distributed today in the meeting for the freedom of Mireya Figueroa, who’s in a bad stated of health and with permantent police vigilance because her condition of mapuche political prisoner.

For who don’t know her, Mireya Figueroa is a mapuche fighter of the Tricauco comunity, in the Ercilla zone (IX Región). She was until a few time around 6 years of clandestinity. Womand and moder of 48 years old, she is in the hospital because a breast cancer expanded until her column. This caused her sever bones problems.

Mireya got a false accusation of burning the Pidenco Farm in 2001, the same cause that keeps in jail to well known strugglers of our people like José Huenchunao, Patricia Troncoso, Jaime and Patricio Marileo, Juan Carlos Huenulao, and others. In the years that this fucked up process begin, that involved false proofs and witness without faces, against all the peope accused of burning the Miningo forestal farm, Mireya Figueroa declines the resolutions of the chilean justice, keeping herself in clandestinity. In thouse years she said “maybe they will arrest me, but i will fight for make that not happen. I’ll confront the justice, i’m not planning to avoid it, but i’ll only when the state can give me the warranty of the just process. Whithout witness without faces and paid”, she said that in 2004.

Today, she is in the Sala Amesti of Surgery of the Santiago’s Hospital, on drugs to keep herself a little away of the intense pain and always under the eye of gendarmerie, she keeps her message clear, always against the State and with the conviction of the fight of our people. The arrest of the lamgen Mireya increase the number of the mapuche political prisoners. With all the things that happened in the last weeks, it made public that the persecution to the mapuche nation haven’t stopped and will not stop while we keep our dreams of be free people and with the territory that always belong us.

Last Tuesday August 26, a group of students from the UMCE, made a meeting outside the University.

The reason was to show solidarity with mapuche people and to remember Jaime Mendoza Collío, assassinated by a police man in the chilean south when he was recovering the land that the chilean state stolen from their people.

After shutdown the traffic with banners and garbage, riot police showed up throwing tear gas bombs and raiding the place, where they hurt a student in the head. That turn on the rage of the students who confronted police for hours. 10 people got arrested.

Activists for the liberation of the mapuche people, got together in downtown Santiago to show their rejection to the assassination of Jaime Mendoza Collío. Special Forces of Police attacked the demo so the demo didn’t start. From that time, riots started in a lot of places of Santiago.

The subversive and combative youth shutdown the traffic Grecia Av. in the Cordón Macul to remember Jaime and to say to the police officers: “fuck off” and stop the assassinations in Wallmapu (mapuche territory in this side of america). With molotovs cocktails and stones they confront police.

A last good bye was the main idea that gathered different mapuche and people in solidarity with their struggle. With a Llellipun and lighting candles in the Welen Hill they show their respect to Jaime and his struggle for liberation.
